1. Purpose and Scope
This Refund and Return Policy applies to all products and services offered by Celebrating Life Movies.
Because each project we undertake is fully custom and tailored to the individual client, this policy outlines the strict conditions under which cancellations or refunds may be considered.
Every film we produce is a one-of-a-kind creative work built around your personal story, media, and message. Once the creative process begins, time, resources, and production schedules are dedicated exclusively to your project. For this reason, all payments become final once work has started.
2. Custom Work and Non-Refundable Nature
All Celebrating Life Movies projects are custom productions involving creative consultation, script development, media digitization, editing, and storytelling unique to each client.
Because of this highly personalized nature, all payments are non-refundable once any portion of work has begun, including—but not limited to—initial consultations, interviews, planning calls, research, or media review.
Refunds, chargebacks, or cancellations cannot be granted after production commences, as the time and creative energy invested are non-recoverable.
3. Payment Terms
Full payment is required prior to the start of any project.
Once payment is received and the service agreement is signed, pre-production work begins immediately.
Payments are used to reserve production time, allocate editors, and begin preparation of the client’s film materials.
Because of this, no refunds will be issued once payment is made and work has begun, under any circumstances.
4. Project Timelines
Project timelines vary from client to client based on the scope of work, length of the story, and amount of media provided.
Estimated timelines and delivery expectations are outlined in each client’s individual service agreement.
While we make every effort to meet or exceed those estimates, timelines are not guaranteed due to the creative and technical complexity of legacy film production.
Clients will be kept informed of key milestones throughout the process.
5. Revisions and Edits
Each project includes a limited number of revisions, as specified in the client’s signed agreement (for example, one round of minor revisions within 14 days of initial delivery).
Revisions include small adjustments to sequencing, titles, or pacing.
Major re-edits, new footage integration, or significant creative direction changes requested after the agreed revision window will be billed separately at the standard hourly editing rate.
Failure to request revisions within the specified window constitutes acceptance of the final project.
6. Cancellations
Because full payment is required in advance, cancellations after payment are not eligible for refunds.
In rare circumstances, if the client requests to pause or delay their project before production has begun, Celebrating Life Movies may, at its discretion, hold the payment as a credit toward future production rescheduling.
Credits must be used within six months of issuance unless otherwise agreed in writing.
7. Media Submission and Client Responsibility
Clients are responsible for ensuring that all submitted materials (including photographs, videos, music, journals, and written content) are owned by them or legally authorized for use.
Celebrating Life Movies is not liable for any copyright or ownership disputes arising from client-provided content.
Clients are encouraged to make digital backups before sending any physical media.
While we handle all materials with the highest care, Celebrating Life Movies is not responsible for the loss, damage, or deterioration of original physical media during shipping, handling, or digitization.
8. Delivery and Acceptance
Final films are delivered digitally via secure download link or hosted platform.
Once the client receives the final delivery and does not submit a revision request within the designated period, the project is considered complete and accepted.
Digital deliveries are treated as completed services and are non-returnable.
9. Exceptions
Refunds will only be considered in the following limited circumstances:
- A duplicate payment was made in error.
- The project has not yet entered pre-production (no calls, planning, or work of any kind initiated).
All exceptions are reviewed solely at the discretion of Celebrating Life Movies, and any approved refund will be processed through the original payment method within 10 business days.
